Pastor Keith Getz
Rev. Keith Getz is a native of SC. He was born and grew up in Columbia. Pastor Keith has a B.A. in English from Wofford College and has a Masters of Divinity from Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary in Columbia. He has served as a vicar in NC and as a Chaplain in Columbia as part of his training. Pastor Keith served as a pastor in Southwestern PA before coming to Sumter. He is married with four children. Pastor Keith is a conservative, traditional, and orthodox Lutheran. His teaching and preaching are rooted in Holy Scripture, grounded in the Church Fathers, shaped by the Lutheran Confessions, and centered in Christ Jesus. He has a theological mind and a pastoral heart, which he uses to serve God and others.
William L. (Bill) Scobee is a native of Paris, Missouri. He graduated from the University of Missouri in 1962. Bill served in the U.S. Air Force including two tours of duty at Shaw AFB in Sumter, and one in Thailand during the Vietnam conflict. He taught at Sumter School District 17 for twenty-six years and was the Organist / Director of Music at First Presbyterian Church in Sumter for thirty-seven years. Following retirement Bill became Organist / Director of Music at St. James Lutheran in 2002. Valerie Johnson
Valerie Johnson was born in Sumter and has always lived here. She is single and of Baptist faith. In September of 2015, she retired from Black River Electric after 38 years of service and enjoys spending time with family and friends, helping others, reading, puzzles and working in the yard. Valarie will be in the church office from 8:00 am to 12:00 noon, Monday thru Friday.
It takes a lot of great people to make a great church.
